I missed seeing all your lovely faces these two past First Fridays...
I really would have loved to have been in my studio, as I have some really cool art and news to add and to share! Firstly, because of life commitments and time constraints, I'm changing up things a bit: The major ART/ICLE newsletter will still happen on a monthly or bi-monthly basis, with shorter ART/SNAPSHOTS posted more frequently.
Now that things are a little less hectic, this upcoming First Friday I WILL be opening up my studio for October - and I'll be offering a FREE drop-in workshop before the monthly open house, too!

Vintage Mood Board Edition
Vintage materials are provided courtesy of Uncle Aud's Vintage, my family's vintage shop!
We're going old-school analog, with book pages, ephemera, and actual vintage items on Friday, October 2, 2026!
Pick a time to drop by my studio, Suite S51, in the Factory Arts North Building, between Noon and 6pm. I personally guide you through creating a mood board for one of a selection of projects, so you get the creative juices flowing! The workshop is FREE, and all materials are provided! Following the Mood Board workshop will be the Monthly First Friday Factory Arts District Open House, from 6pm to 9pm, during which you can visit so many different art studios!
The Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club "Catharine Lorillard Wolfe (1828-1887) was a prominent New York philanthropist and art collector, and the only woman among the 106 founders of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. In addition to bequeathing her painting collection to the museum, Ms. Wolfe left an endowment to Grace Church in Manhattan to promote “women’s work.” At the urging of Rector Dr. William Reed Huntington and several parishioners, the Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club was established in 1896. The purpose at the time was to provide aid, counsel and exhibition opportunities to young women artists in New York City." - From clwac.org
Salmagundi Club "Salmagundi [pronounced: sal-muh-guhn-dee] is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization created in 1871, by artists and patrons, to support one another and to encourage the advancement of art of all kinds." - From salmagundi.org
I've be chosen to showcase a piece in the 129th Annual Catharine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club Small Works Juried Exhibition, which will be held in NYC at the Salmagundi Club, from October 27 to November 13, 2026! I'm over the moon excited to be exhibiting in the same place I visited during my very first trip to NYC. At the Salmangundi Club I had the opportunity to view up close the breathtaking works and sketches of major illustrators, including some of my favorites, like C.J. and X.F. Leyendecker. I am so beyond thrilled to have had a piece of work selected for this show!
The reception is on November 13, 2026 - if you'll be in NYC please do RSVP on the CLWC website to attend and see some amazing works!
Indie Art Pharmacy by Angela Edwards will have one-of-a-kind wearable art clothing, jewelry, hats, and home accessories available for purchase, just in time for the gift-giving season!

4 Sights: Through The Lens
The recent acquisition of an SLR camera has me slowing down, looking a little longer, a little closer, and being present, experiencing the wonder around us all. ~
Summer gardens, revisited vintage and getting into the kitchen have filled my soul this summer week! Looking back at the captured moments have fueled my creativity this week, inspiring me to make some amazing new - and useful - accessories and decor items, all of which you can see, feel, and touch during the upcoming First Friday!
For now, enjoy four of my favorite inspiration photos that inspired the new collection:
The Dancer: Kadeem En Pointe came across my insta feed, and I was in MESMERIZED! His bio from the website: "He trained at the Caribbean School of Dancing in Trinidad and Tobago before moving to the UK, and is the creator of Kadeem En Pointe, a platform exploring ballet beyond traditional ideas of gender and who the art form is for. His work includes the En Pointe In Public series and All The World’s A Stage, his first independently produced stage production, which premiered at London’s Shaw Theatre in August 2026."
The Show: Making ballet accessible means there are also livestream tickets available for those outside of London who wish to view his upcoming production, A Reimagining of The Nutcracker Part 2. I had the pleasure of watching his first livestream, and it was WONDERFUL to watch, and a great feeling know I could support from far away, too!
The Book:The Pointe Of Passion does not disappoint! I couldn't choose which piece of art work I would enjoy adding to my collection - so I went with the majority of them! The forward is short, approachable yet eye-opening with it's quick teachable moments.
Ms. Jeannie Logan, Voice Coach and Artist Jeannie has traveled the world, singing and performing. A Butler music program grad, she's said to be "The Woman Who Brought Cabaret To Indiana"!
Voice coach, artist, and friend, Ms. Jeannie Logan, is a woman of many talents - and you can see them on display all around town! Jeannie's artwork is up for view and for sale at the Jiun-Lee Music Academy in Fishers, Indiana, where she recently had a grand semi-retirement send-off after teaching scores of students the gift of vocal instruction and music-making! You can take a peek during the Academy's open hours (contact the academy for details)!
Semi-retirement means she's still doing plenty of things, such as co-directing the musical Blood Brothers which will be playing at the Switch Theatre, a community theatre, also in Fishers, Indiana. She's also continuing to teach voice on a limited basis - so if you're ever curious about whether you can sing - like I was - she can and will help you sound your best.
Give her a call or text at (317) 937-8480!
Here are a few inspiration ideas to get your started! Take a quick minute and do the challenge right this very second!
Grab the back of an envelope or a stack of index cards, and make a quick drawing or painting.
Share a photo from your photo gallery.
Take a collection of items and compose a summer photo.
ARTIST'S TIP: don't aim to make it perfect; just give it a try! Success is in starting, trying new things and having fun in a community that supports YOU!
