The hot, hot heat and the holiday didn't keep folks away from the Factory Arts District this past First Friday, which was a hot, happening place for some really cool reasons! I had a great time meeting soooo many new people, had wonderful conversations with other artists about their art and the arts in general, and ended the night with a little impromptu salsa dancing lesson in the studio with new friends Sammy and crew!
So what's up next in and around the studio? READ ON!
"The Robust Life & Music Of Noble Sissle, Sr." by Aleta Hodge, Author & Presenter of Indiana Avenue Jazz programs
Mass Ave SummerFest is TODAY!
This weekend come celebrate summer with me, author and playwright Aleta Hodge, and a host of other artists and makers during a FREE, family friendly block party centered in the 600 block of Massachusetts Avenue (between Alabama Street and East Street) in Downtown Indy!
On Saturday July 18, 2026, from 11am to 5pm enjoy the artist and maker market, all-day live music, and a kids zone!
This piece came to fruition through an at of kindness repaid in kindness! I was gifted sewing machines for my studio - in return I offered a piece of art. I hadn't expected to create a whole new collection from that simple gesture - but now I'm glad I did!
NEW ART EDITION: "This Fresh Morning"
I'm hard at work putting the finishing touches on this series of linoleum block monoprints for the release of the collection an September 1, 2026!
Each print is unique, with different color-ways, a hand-stamped Mary Oliver quote bordering the print, and mounted on board featuring vintage road maps sewn together.
Prints will be available unframed or framed, and will be made available to mailing list recipients on a first-come-first-served basis through www.angelaedwards.com on September 1, 2026 at 12:00 Noon EST!

I need your help to plan and schedule the next set of sessions!
What days and times would work better for you? If you have a particular day and time you'd like to meet I will do my best to accommodate you! Are you interested in open studios, where you get to be guided as you play around with different materials, or do you prefer to have the focus of a project idea to make?
If there's a medium or media you'd like to try, just ask! From traditional to digital, I'm here to let you lead the way to helping me help you!
My studio is located on the second floor of the Factory Arts North Building, 1125 E Brookside Ave, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
4 Sights: Through The Lens
The recent acquisition of an SLR camera has me slowing down, looking a little longer, a little closer, and being present, experiencing the wonder around us all. ~
Preparing for the Marmon Hall show meant learning my way around the Factory Arts North Building - and, it did not disappoint! There's a mix of new, remodeled, and polished spaces juxtaposed with the realness of this being the former Schwitzer Corporation car factory!
The location now known as a home for emerging and established artists alike was once the factory producing cars! Find more about the building's history here.
For now, enjoy four of my favorite shots from throughout the unrestored nooks and crannies I found:
PERFORMANCE DATES • Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026 at 7:30 PM • Sunday, Sept. 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM • Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026 at 7:30 PM

Every last Friday of the month at Almost Famous is Latin Night, where the Jacob y Su Combo plays Latin Jazz, Salsa, and more! Cover is $5, and the music starts at 9pm!
NEW MUSIC AT THE PIKE FARMERS MARKET: Didn't make it to Marmon Hall to hear self-described "pop girly" Phoebe Godfrey sing her heart out this past Friday? You've got another chance to hear her at the Pike Farmer's Market on August 1, 2026. She's playing at 9am, and her songwritnig prowess is not to be missed! The Pike Farmer's Market fruns from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM, and is located at 5429 Lafayette Road, Indianapolis IN 46254, in the Common Ground West Church Parking Lot!
As promised, we go into the kitchen so I can show you how I make my "Marry Me Focaccia"! In the video below I share tips and what I've found to work for me to make a great loaf of focaccia!

I had the pleasure of meeting the store manager, Rissa, and learning about the work being done to uplift and empower all people of all walks of life by the Indy Liberation Center - workers, women, minorities, the incarcerated, those who need legal help and advice - the list of resources the center offers goes on and on!
The Indy Liberation Store, located at 1619 Prospect Street, Indianapolis, IN 46203, helps fund the center, as well as a host of volunteers who give their time and share their blessings with others in so many different ways!
If you have a chance, stop by! I've posted them here, but, as always, check out their website to confirm, too!
